status: losing it

so i’m in college. that’s cool.

my friends and family keep bombarding me with texts asking how i am and how things are going. do they go unanswered (or at least very minimally responded to)? well, of course. there’s simply too much happening for me to even begin to fit into a little blue box.

an extremely accurate personality pic taken by the one and only Amelia Payton post-game. Annie clearly looks tired in this photo. Annie didn’t even touch the court this game.

i also do not, in fact, have the time to be writing this extensive blog or wasting my study time creating an elaborate website with code (whose domain i actually bought with my very sad amount of money) and getting pissed at my computer for not making it look the way i want to. should i call my mom? absolutely. but doing things i’m not supposed to is way more stimulating for my ADHD-infested brain.

half the reason i made this blog was actually so my friends and family could keep up with me while i’m busy getting absolutely jacked as a college athlete. BUT… i also just think a lot and loveeee to hear myself talk. sometimes i get funny. why not spread the joy?

speaking of joy, i’ve actually been feeling a lot of it recently. i have a bunch of new friends that i’m fairly certain will be in my wedding one day. these girls have seen all of me- and i mean ALL of me- in the very short amount of time that we’ve been together. it’s been two months and it honestly feels more like i’ve known them for years.

you may be wondering why i’m writing so many good and hopeful things for a blog title insinuating i’m miserable; you’d be right to do so. and though i really am FAR from miserable, i’m also not afraid to admit that it’s hot mess express over here.

it’s been two months and my mom has already brought me a target care package with 6 different kinds of laxatives. self-explanatory. also found out that eight of my ribs slipped out of place along my spine, keeping me from playing volleyball. that was lovely too as i’m sure you can imagine. i’ve also written a grand total of 3/3 papers due at 11:59 within an hour of the due date. though this is a talent of mine, the ADHD panic mode gods have absolutely NOT been on my side this semester.

BUT TO EVERYONE READING THIS– i’m being dramatic. it’s a great time down here in San Antonio, especially now that it’s cooling off. i was getting kind of tired of living in the devil’s sweaty armpit. but i gotta be real; this wouldn’t be an Annie blog if Annie wasn’t being egregiously TMI about something to someone. i figured my parents miss those comments of mine (hi mom and dad)!

i’ll be writing weekly. follow along 🙂
